Mealworm skin with chitin – natural protection against pests

The sheaths are a fine, light substance with a high content of chitin, the substance responsible for the repellent effect of the manure against pests. Chitin strengthens the immunity of plants and increases their natural defenses.

These layers are partially separated during the production of the manure to eliminate the risk of bio-waste. The more layers, the better the effect against pests. Therefore, the layers may also contain the remains of worms.

How do extensions work?

• They contain chitin, which helps plants fight pests and diseases.
• They increase resistance to aphids, moths, spider mites and slugs.
• They support the growth of beneficial soil bacteria that break down chitin into substances that can be absorbed by plants.
• Ideal for root vegetables and legumes, where there is no need to add nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

The flakes are 50% pure, which means they contain a mix of flakes and wheat bran. The proportion of flakes is lower than in the 70% pure package, but it does not contain a large amount of worms.

How to apply the patches?

• Incorporation into soil – Sprinkle lightly around roots when planting and rake in.
• Infusion for watering: 

• • Healthy plants – 1 teaspoon per 1 liter of water.
  • Pest control – 1 tablespoon per 1 liter of water.
  • 250 ml of the mixture will produce up to 16.5 l of water.
    • Spraying – For a quick effect, apply the infusion 2–3 days in a row, the first results will be visible within 4 days.
    • Soil sprinkling – Recommended only for greenhouses to prevent the mixture from blowing away.

It is not necessary to use the supplements as often as fertilizer. A single application is usually sufficient for a longer period. Regular fertilization with manure already contains some supplements.

Use the patches as needed or continuously throughout the year to maintain a lasting repellent effect against plant pests and diseases. 🌿
