Recommendation: do not extend the handle to its maximum level and leave a few cm unused for greater stability. When screwing the handle into the broom head, make sure to grip the thinner tube so that you can actually screw the handle into the handle holder instead of over-stressing the length adjustment thread.

Sweeping away from or towards each other... it's a matter of habit!

People who work with brooms are divided into two camps. Most people sweep primarily by pulling but also by pushing. Both are possible with regular brooms with straight bristles. Brooms with curved bristles, on the other hand, are only intended for sweeping towards you. The “claw effect” of the curved bristles is most functional in this direction. Information about the width of the broom:

The size and width of brooms are determined by the sweeping width. This is the width that the bristles cover when sweeping. In our opinion, the sweeping width is the most useful measurement for sizing brooms, as it indicates the width of the area that will be cleaned in one stroke. The sweeping width of Fritze® brooms is always wider than the corresponding wooden body. This is because the bristles at the edges both protrude outward and are pushed to the sides when sweeping. This results in a sweeping width that is up to 5 cm wider than the wooden body.

Is the telescopic handle suitable and durable?

Yes, the Fritze® telescopic handle is an equivalent alternative to a wooden handle. It is extremely rigid, strong and also adjustable in length. The advantage is that it is compact and can be adjusted to your needs. A broom handle that is adjusted to your body size can make your work easier. When mounting the handle on the broom head, we recommend not extending the handle to the maximum, but leaving a few cm of the guide inserted for greater strength. When screwing the handle into the broom head, make sure to grab the thinner tube so that you can actually screw the handle into the handle holder instead of putting excessive stress on the length adjustment thread. In conclusion, telescopic handles require a little more gentle handling, but if you follow our recommendations, they are at least as durable as wooden handles.

Care and cleaning and storage

After the job is done, dirt particles and other debris such as flowers, twigs, leaves, hair or dust may remain in the bristles. Clean the bristles regularly to maintain their effectiveness. Store the broom in a dry place at home or in a shed or garden house. Working in damp or rainy conditions is of course possible and without problems, but avoid leaving the broom outside and constantly exposed to moisture and the vagaries of the weather.
